My girls

I took Lauryn and Hattie Catherine to get their picture made when Hattie Catherine was 4 weeks old. I am going to get some done of the whole family but haven't been able to get a time when we can all go. Might be a Christmas holiday thing. But I wanted to share these b/c I thought they turned out pretty good considering Hattie Catherine was not in the mood to get her picture taken that day.

Hattie Catherine is 6 weeks, her first NC Fair and Lauryn is 7

Well first let me say I have enjoyed the past 6 weeks with Hattie Catherine and Lauryn at home. Lauryn started back to school yesterday (2nd grade) wow...so me and HC are home for another 2 weeks and then its daycare and work. : (
Hattie Catherine has been doing great and is even sleeping through the night already...she has been a great baby. She fusses a little when she is hungry and that about it. She is really starting to grow...Im not sure what she weight b/c we haven't been back to the dr yet but I would guess over 7 lbs. She is also starting to smile alot but its hard to catch that on camera. When I grab it she stops.

Here are a few pics of her around 2 and 3 weeks:

We had a good week at the Fair. Hattie Catherine was 5 weeks. I didn't know how it would be with her being so young but she did good. We didn't stay the whole time...we came in and stayed at home a few nights. But she enjoyed her first fair probably b/c her meme and pop pop spoiled her the entire time. Lauryn had a blast even though it rain almost the whole week.

Here are a few pics from the fair:

Lauryn's birthday is June 25th and that is the day we came home from the hospital so we decided we would wait and have her party a few weeks later so I would be able to plan it and go. She has been great with all this...and has been a great big sister...

Here are a few pics of her party:

Hattie Catherine has arrived!!

I had to go to the doctor at 8:00 Monday morning (JUNE 22nd) for an ultrasound to check my fluid level again. They were too low so Dr. Nelson said we are going to have a baby today. Wow...I wasn't expecting that even though I had all my stuff packed and with me just in case. So she sends me to the hospital to get checked in and monitored and she would come after clinic which usually run several hours behind. Since I had my bags and I didn't really have anything else to do I went on to the hospital where they put me in a room that I stayed for the next 6 hours...yeah I know. Finally around 4:00 the nurse said Dr. Nelson was headed over...I got really nervous for some reason but Bryan was right there by my side telling me everything would be fine. So at 4:15 they took me back and prepped me for survery. Then they brought Bryan in and then Dr. Nelson came in and they got started. Even though I had been through it before I was still nervous and scared but everything went great and Bryan was such a wonderful husband holding my hand.

She was born at 5:02 p.m. weighting 5 lbs and 14 oz and she was 19 inches long. She was early of course..I was 37 weeks and 3 days but she was perfectly healthy. We were truly blessed!

Even though we have been in this hospital room for 3 days we have really enjoyed the time with her....she is such a joy. Her daddy has been great...of course she looks just like him!!

Here are a few pics...I will put up more when I get home.

Baby Shower

Today I had a baby shower hosted by my sister-in laws Kim and Dawn, and Bryan's aunt Jean, and cousin Angie. Everything was so cute and I got lots of great stuff. I haven't done this in so long that I don't have hardly anything...I'm pretty much starting new. We played games and ate lots of great food. The cakes were soooo cute...and the diaper cake Kim made of diapers was really neat. Here are the pics of the cake...I will try to put of some more pics soon! I go back to the doctor tomorrow so I will update everyone after my visit!

33 weeks 4 days

I went to the hospital Friday for another ultrasound and my fluid level was about the same...they let me go but told me to go back to see Dr Nelson Tuesday. So back to Meridian I go Tuesday morning for another ultrasound. She checked my fluids and they were still about the same....so I have to go back again Thursday (May 28th) to have another ultrasound...she said I will probably start coming every week from now on....If the fluids continue to stay low the further I get and it starts affecting the placenta she may have to come early so hopefully I can go at least 2 or 3 more weeks so she will be more developed...that will be 36 weeks.

Here is a pic she gave me but its not that good...she said they are not real clear when they get this big and plus having low fluids.

Back to the Doctor!

I went to the doctor yesterday for an ultrasound and check-up. Sorry no pics...she was moving so much she couldn't get a good picture to give me. She weighs 4 lbs 12 oz. already so she is growing. She checked my fluid level 4 times and it was low and put me on the monitor to check for contractions and I was having some contractions. Dr. Nelson checked me to make sure I wasn't dilating and decided to send me to the hospital to get a liter of fluid. So..I had to get an IV, one of the worst thing to me. They kept monitors on me while I was in there. After I finished receiving the bag of fluids they let me go but I have to go back to the hospital Friday to have another ultrasound to check my fluids again. Hopefully I will not have to do this all over again. I think little miss Hattie Catherine is getting anxious to meet everyone!

Update on Heather and Hattie Catherine!

I went to the Dr. April 20th being 28 weeks and they did an ultrasound. Lauryn went with me this time and she was so excited and silly she couldn't sit still in there. Everything looked great....I could see her precious face on the monitor. It was amazing. I start going every 2 weeks now and they are going to do another ultrasound at 32 weeks.
We have offically moved so I am trying to get everything in order before the baby gets here. I have been exhausted and sick probably from the moving and cleaning and dusting. I should be able to get it the way I want it before July 1st but its an old house so there is always something to do but Bryan has been so wonderful fixing everything that needs it right now. We got it so we can live in it but I still got a lot of unpacking to do. Just gonna take time.

Easter 2009 and 28 weeks

Lauryn had a great Easter with baskets full of stuff from everyone. She wanted to dye her eggs all by herself so she did...and they turned out pretty good. She also helped her aunt Mandy bake an egg cake....she had so much fun. Here are a few pics to share.

I went to the Dr. 2 weeks ago and she said I had only gained 2 lbs. this visit so I have to go back Monday for an ultrasound. I guess she wants to make sure the baby is gaining plenty of weight but I think everything is growing along just fine....my belly is defintely bigger. So after Monday I will have some more pics to share...i will try to get a belly shot to share on here too.

In other news...I have been packing up a storm. We are moving just down the road to my grandmother's old house and that means I still have to pack everything I own. I am trying to do as much as I can while I can. I know its time for my 3rd trimester and I will start to get really tired again. I hope to have everything packed and moved by the first of May so I can get the baby room ready...I had it painted and fixed but now I will just have to do it all again. Lots to do before JULY 1st.

Just growing and growing!

I haven't updated this in a while but I went to the doctor Feb. 16th, I was 19 weeks then. This time I went to Dr. Pupa to have an ultrasound done to make sure everything was developing ok. She said everything looks great and they gave me several photos and they verified that it is definitely a girl! Here is one of the pics...she looks like she is trying to turn a flip....

Then I went back to the doctor March 9th for just a check-up at 22 weeks and she said everything looks good. The baby is really starting to grow. We discussed scheduling it a little early since its close to the 4th of July so if everything is ok then we will be having Hattie Catherine July 1st!!!! Can't wait.

It's a Girl!!! Hattie Catherine McLain

Well, we went to the doctor Jan. 19th and they had a sonogram scheduled to see what the baby was...i was only 15 weeks then so I was trying to not get my hopes up that I would find out what it was gonna be. Just as I expected the baby didn't want us to know. I was in there on that table for around 30 minutes. The sonogram girl was determined to find out. The baby was moving the entire time and would not open her legs. Finally after lots of wiggling she finally got to where she could see what she thinks is a girl. Its not for sure but I go back on the 16th of February to a different doctor that specializes in sonograms to look at the heart, lungs and other organs to check to see if everything looks as it should. She will also look to see for sure what the baby is. So....we talked about names and came up with HATTIE CATHERINE MCLAIN....that name is from his grandmother and my grandmother that are both in heaven. Lauryn is really excited about it being a girl...and I looked to see what clothes of Lauryn's I kept and I was surprised to see what all I still have that are cute girl clothes. Bryan is gonna just have to stay out-numbered.
